Accessible Buffalo is a community-driven platform dedicated to advancing accessibility, inclusion, and equity throughout Western New York. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities, older adults, caregivers, parents with strollers, and anyone with mobility or sensory challenges by providing clear, practical information and tools to navigate their communities with confidence.
We offer firsthand accessibility reviews of restaurants, public venues, stadiums, breweries, and more — evaluated through a real-world lens, not just by ADA checklists. Each review is based on lived experience and considers everyday challenges like parking, restrooms, entrances, seating, and staff attitude, so users know what to expect before they go.
Alongside our reviews, we curate and maintain a growing Disability Resource Guide — a comprehensive directory of local services, programs, and supports across categories like housing, adaptive sports, transportation, mental health, equipment providers, and more. Updated regularly, the guide helps connect people to essential resources they might not otherwise find.
Our work also includes collaborating with businesses, nonprofits, and event organizers to share firsthand insight and constructive feedback on improving accessibility helping better serve customers, clients, and communities.
Everything we do is grounded in lived experience, driven by transparency, and focused on amplifying the voices of people with disabilities. Accessible Buffalo exists not just to inform, but to inspire systemic change one review, one resource, and one conversation at a time.
We envision a fully accessible Buffalo Niagara region — one where people of all abilities can navigate freely, participate fully, and feel welcomed everywhere they go.
Accessible Buffalo exists to break down the barriers that people with disabilities and mobility concerns face every day — from inaccessible restaurants and public spaces to a lack of clear, information.
Our vision is powered by lived experience and community knowledge. We provide detailed accessibility reviews, maintain a growing disability resource directory, and collaborate with local businesses and organizations to improve access and inclusion — not just to meet the ADA, but to exceed it through empathy and awareness.
Through real-world storytelling, education, and connection, we aim to create a culture where accessibility is expected. Where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Where inclusion is built into the foundation of how Buffalo welcomes all.
Together, we can build a stronger, more informed, and more inclusive Western New York — one review, one resource, and one conversation at a time.
